Refund & Cancellation Policy

Donations are voluntary gifts and are normally not refundable. This page sets out the specific situations in which we will refund one, and how to ask.

Last updated: 24 September 2026

The general position

A donation to Panchmahals Adivasi Pragati Mandal is a voluntary contribution towards charitable work, not a payment for goods or services. Once a donation has been received and applied to our programmes it is generally not refundable, because the funds may already have been committed to the work you chose to support.

We would rather correct a genuine mistake than keep money a donor did not intend to give. The situations below are therefore treated as exceptions where we will refund.

When we will refund

1. Duplicate payment

If the same donation was charged more than once because of a technical error or a repeated submission, we will refund the duplicate amounts and keep one.

2. Incorrect amount entered

If you entered an amount clearly different from what you intended, for example an extra digit, tell us within 7 days of the donation. We will normally refund either the full amount or the excess, as you prefer.

3. Technical error

If you were charged but our records do not show a completed donation, or the amount charged does not match the amount you confirmed, we will investigate and refund any amount that should not have been taken.

4. Unauthorised transaction

If a donation was made without the account holder’s authorisation, tell us as soon as you can. We will refund it once verified, and we will co-operate with your bank.

5. Donation we cannot lawfully accept

PAPM is not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, so we cannot accept foreign contributions. If a donation reaches us that appears to be a foreign contribution, we will not apply it to our work. We will hold it, contact the donor, and refund it in full. No request is needed from you for this: we initiate it.

When we may decline a refund

  • The request is made well after the donation and the funds have already been spent on the programme you selected.
  • A receipt has been issued and used, or relied upon, in a way that cannot be reversed.
  • We cannot verify that the person requesting the refund made the donation or holds the account it came from.
  • The request appears to be an attempt to misuse the donation or refund process.

If we decline, we will tell you why in writing. You can ask the Secretary to review that decision.

How to request a refund

Send us the following, and keep it to what is needed to identify the payment:

  • Your name and the email address or mobile number used for the donation.
  • The donation number or receipt number, if you have it.
  • The amount and the approximate date.
  • The reason for the request.

Email papmgujarat@gmail.com, call +91 93134 51246, or write to 202, Jyoti Apartment, Godi Road, Dahod 389151, Gujarat, India.

Please do not send your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking password. We never need them and we cannot use them.

How long it takes

StageTimeframe
We acknowledge your requestWithin 3 working days
We decide and tell you the outcomeWithin 7 working days of acknowledgement
We instruct the refund with the payment gatewayWithin 3 working days of approval
The money reaches your accountTypically 5–10 working days after that, depending on your bank

The final step is controlled by the payment gateway and your bank rather than by us. We will give you the gateway’s refund reference so you can follow it up with your bank if it is delayed.

How the refund is paid

  • Refunds are always returned to the original payment method and account. We cannot redirect a refund to a different account, cheque or cash.
  • Refunds are made in Indian Rupees.
  • We refund the amount you donated. Any charge your own bank may levy is outside our control.
  • Where only part of a donation is refunded, the remainder stays with the purpose you originally chose.

Receipts after a refund

If a receipt was issued for a donation that is later refunded in full, that receipt is no longer valid and must not be relied upon. Where a donation is partly refunded, we issue a corrected receipt for the amount actually retained. We do not alter or delete the original receipt record; the correction refers to it.

Cancelling before payment

You can abandon a donation at any point before you confirm payment, simply by closing the payment window. Nothing is charged, and an unconfirmed donation attempt expires on its own. It is not a debt and you do not need to tell us.

Grievances

If you are not satisfied with how a refund request has been handled, escalate it to the Secretary, Yashraj Damor, at papmgujarat@gmail.com, marking your message “Refund grievance”. See also our Donation Terms.
